Propbusters Model Airplane Club
Richmond, Indiana
AMA Charter# 880

Hello & Welcome! The Richmond Propbusters welcomes you to the world of radio control (R/C) model airplanes. We're sure you will find R/C to be the sport of a lifetime. In some areas of the country, it is very difficult to find a club to teach you to fly R/C. In fact, in some areas you cannot find a local R/C hobby shop. So we urge you to support your local hobby shop and local club. Without them, our sport would be difficult to pursue.

If you are new to R/C, you will need some instruction. R/C airplanes are not difficult to fly. However, flying an R/C model is not something you can learn in a few minutes. You should take the time to learn to fly with a qualified instructor. You can be sure that if you attempt to teach yourself to fly, your model won't last very long.  Most R/C clubs have people who will volunteer to help you, just ask. You have too much time and money invested in a model to lose it in a moment of indecision. You can find information on our Instruction Sessions HERE or at the top of this page.

We invite you to visit one of our monthly club meetings. They are held on the first Sunday of every month at 1:00 a.m. at the flying field, weather permitting. Please feel free to come visit any time you like. Yearly membership is: $15.00 for Adults / $7.50 for 17 and under.

Before using our the flying field on any of our scheduled events, you must be a current member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). The required AMA membership also provides you with the required liability insurance & also a monthly magazine. We also operate in cooperation with the city of Richmond Parks Dept & adhere to their park rules as well. You can get information and an application for the AMA at you local hobby shop or you can learn more about the AMA here and join the AMA here The Clubs rules are posted at the flying field and you can also find them
HERE or the top of this page.

Interested?..... We invite you to come out anytime.... to look at the planes, ask questions, or just to watch.

Please remember to support our local clubs and R/C hobby shops. Without them, we would not have a place to fly!
